MediCupping™ therapy and Massage Cupping™ bodywork are two of the specialized types of cupping therapy that have emerged in the last eight years. MediCupping™ is built on the original development of Massage Cupping™ and has replaced the manual tools with sophisticated and user-friendly equipment. These two modalities have demonstrated immediate effects on many conditions including:
· Deep tissue and structural issues – old injuries and chronic movement patterns
· Arthritis, Tendonitis, Bursitis
· Scarring – old, new, keloid, post-surgery
· Loose skin and old deposits from weight loss
· Lymphoedema – general and post-surgery
· Fibromyalgia
· Sports – injuries and post-event conditions
· And more!*
Current cupping therapies are adaptations of an ancient technique and possess the benefits of traditional use, along with many incredible new applications. This therapy utilizes glass or plastic cups and a vacuum pistol, bulb or machine to create suction on the body surface. These cups are moved over the skin using gliding, shaking, popping and rotating techniques while gently pulling up on the cup or are parked for a short time to facilitate joint mobilization or soft tissue release. This suction reaches deep into the soft tissue, attachments and organs and also has a sedating effect on the nervous system. Another benefit is to pull inflammation and toxins from the body tissues so that the skin and lymphatic system can readily eliminate them. Scar tissue often releases quickly, despite the age of the injury or keloid tendencies.
One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the “separation” that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue, which is invaluable in pre- and post-surgery treatments. It is evident that separation of fused, congested soft tissue and increase in tissue function can be a catalyst for change in many current health conditions.*
After Your MediCupping™ Session
· Drink plenty of the purest water you can find (not all fluids are equal)
· Do not exercise until the next day
· Avoid chills, drafts or heat for 4-6 hrs.
· Avoid showers, steam, sauna till next day (if you must bathe, keep it lukewarm)
· Do not receive other bodywork for 48 hours as this could overload your system or it could negate the work that has been done.
· Remember that MediCupping™ therapy starts working on detoxifying and opening lymphatic pathways slowly for those who have more “solid bloat” or specific trauma to the tissue, but sometimes with dramatic results. Subsequent sessions will yield even better results and eventually will be done faster.
· If you are participating in the body contouring, it is important to leave the essential oils on overnight and not bathe.

For four to six hours following a treatment you should avoid any strenuous activity, cold weather and unpleasantly hot environments. Cupping opens the pores and because of this the absorption of liniments, analgesics, plant hydrosols or essential oils will be aided. Drinking more water than is typically necessary following treatment is helpful for oxygenating cleansed tissues.*

Cupping Reviews
I have been suffering from severe lower back issues since Monday of last week so I decided on Friday to give Cupping a try. I am not one to get massages or anything like this done but being in a lot of pain and not being able to stand up straight I thought what do I have to lose.
Theresa at Texas Sports Massage suggested I give David a try with his new Cupping machine so on Friday I did. When I walked into Texas Sports Massage I was greeted by Theresa and Tess which I must say are 2 great ladies :) and also David. This new machine is quite a machine I must say and David is the absolute best !
I did a 30 minute session but before we started David explained what he was going to do and went over everything first. Once we were finished I was actually able to stand up straight and the burning in my lower back was almost gone.
Over the weekend my back pain has got a bit better and I will return again this Tuesday for another session.
All I can say is Give Texas Sports Massage a Call and Book David for a Cupping Session you won't be disappointed as he really is the BEST at Massaging or Cupping.

I enjoyed my time at Texas Sports Massage. The place is very clean and the staff kind. I went in for a massage and was pleased to find out that they offered so much more. I got the best massage I have ever received. Thank you David! A bonus was getting cupping done after. It really relaxed me and helped with my problem areas. I highly recommend this spa as well as the cupping! I look forward to my next visit.
